On January 13th, KTBS and KXPJ Morning News viewers were given a firsthand glance into a day in the life of the individuals in Evergreen’s Northwest Louisiana Program as reporter Rick Rowe’s “ArkLaTex Made” segment and live interview featuring Evergreen’s clients and staff aired. Approximately 118,000 homes were introduced to the services Evergreen provides for individuals with disabilities.
A day prior to the segment airing, reporter Rick Rowe spent a day with several of Evergreen’s clients capturing footage in a community home located in Bossier, during a local outing and even at Evergreen’s Day Habilitation Program. During filming, Rowe was able to capture these individuals in their everyday settings, letting them explain in their own words the difference that Evergreen has made in their lives.
Rowe invited Evergreen client, D’An Gates, and Evergreen’s Director of Development, Becky Howland, to the KTBS studio located in Shreveport to do a live interview. Again Rowe touched on how far reaching Evergreen’s impact has been on the lives of those served. According to Gates, being on the news has always been a dream of hers and thanks to Evergreen and KTBS, it had become a reality.
Evergreen would like to thank Rick Rowe and the entire staff at KTBS for their generosity and hospitality and would like to invite everyone to view the piece at http://www.ktbs.com/arklatex-made/.
